How do I install the application?
Navigate your browser to www.thinkpipes.com, click “Software” and then Click “Install under Step 2”
Are there any firewall requirements to run the application?
Yes, please see the ncis.pdf link to for assistance.
When I login I’m getting ‘login failed’ message, what do I do?
This is some error in your Login/Firm/Password combination. Please note the login is case sensitive.
I keep getting ‘application update failed,’ what do I do?
This is most likely because you are behind a firewall and will need to have the proper ports opened in order to update the application. Please see the ncis.pdf link to for assistance.
Can I install thinkpipes on a Mac?
Yes; however, you will need to use the web start version on the following link.
How do I recover my login or password?
Please call or email the support team for assistance in resetting your password.
Am I able to login from 2 computers at once?
No, you are unable to login to 2 computers with the same login parameters.
Can I use a wireless connection?
Yes; however, please note that depending on the amount of data and how many windows/tabs you have open the application may run slow.

Configuration

How do I link components?
Click the blue arrow to the right from any of the symbol entry boxes, and then click “link.” You can then click in the symbol box of another component for them to be linked together.
How do I change the color scheme?
There are 2 ways:
  1. Before logging in, click the “configure” button and then select ‘white or black’ from the color scheme dropdown.
  2. When logged in, click “settings” from the top menu bar and then select “display from the dropdown. Then select ‘white or black’ from the color scheme dropdown.
How do I save my existing layout?
From the top menu bar, click “window” and then “save layout. Additionally, each time you close out of the application you’ll get a box that pops up with ‘save desktop changes’ checked off. This will store your current layout.
If I messed up my layout how do I start back from the beginning?
Before logging in, click the “configure” button and then check off ‘load default desktop configuration.’ Click “ok” and then login.
Can I change the columns I see in the quote pages?
There are 2 ways to add/remove columns
  1. Click the little grey pinion at the far left of the column headings. This will bring up a column configuration box which will allow you to add/remove/re-order columns as you see fit.
  2. Right click over any of the column headings and select ‘configure’ from the dropdown.
Can I change the font size?
When logged in, click “settings” from the top menu bar and then select “display from the dropdown. Select the appropriate font size on the top of the window, click “ok.”

Components

How do I setup alerts?
There are 2 ways to create alerts.
  1. Add the “alert book” component to one of the tabs in your layout. Then click “new” to create an alert for any underlying you choose.
  2. Right click over one of the symbols in your quote sheets, the option montage, or the chart component, and select “create alert.”
Can I hide my alerts from within the chart?
Click “Style,” then click “Settings.” On the upper portion of the General tab you will see Alerts and then a dropdown. Select the control you prefer.
Can I turn off the news icons in the quote ticker?
Click “settings” and then select “quotes” from the dropdown. Check/Uncheck “display news icon for articles” and then click “ok.”
How do I limit the news component to just the symbols I follow?
Click the blue arrow to the right from the symbol entry box, and then select the appropriate quote sheet from the drop down menu.
How do I customize level ii boxes?
From within the Level II component, click the “wrench” icon to bring up the configuration menu. In here you can specify the different things you’d like to view within a Level II window and create a default layout.
What exchange do letters stand for on T/S?

Functionality

How do I upload the symbol lists?
If you have a symbol list in an excel or text sheet you can click “control + C” to copy the list. Click on the next available symbol box in a quote sheet and click “control + V” to paste.
How do I load the symbols to excel with quotes updating live?
From any of your quote sheets you can click the X icon in the upper right hand corner. Next open an excel sheet and click “control + V” to paste.
How do I enter the futures symbol?
Any futures symbol must preference with a forward slash. (for example: /ESU9)

Troubleshoot

I do not see any quotes, what do I do?
A few things to check first. Check “settings” and then select “quotes” from the dropdown and ensure you have the appropriate quote providers turned on. Next, check to ensure you have all 4 green dots on the bottom right hand corner of the application.
My quote monitor is blank, what do I do?
Right click anywhere in the quote monitor page to bring up the menu to either add system lists, industry groups, Top 10’s, or create custom lists.
The bottom of my application is blinking, what does it mean?
If one of the connections at the bottom of the application is blinking you are either having internet connectivity problems or some other problem connecting to our servers. If your internet connection is fine you may need to contact us.
I am not getting Time & Sales?
Most likely the clock on your computer might need to be adjusted to the correct date and time.
